Hello! I am Alexa Hutty, Registered Veterinary Technician, long time animal lover, and tie dye artist. I've worked with all kinds of animals over the last 20+ years in the veterinary, animal care, and training fields. My passion involves decreasing the stress in our pets' lives surrounding routine veterinary care while increasing their health and happiness. I aim to offer low stress care to pets in their own homes. I love gently training animals to accept maintenance care, such as teeth brushing and nail trims - even blood draws! (No actual pokes involved.) I offer services in the greater Sacramento area within a 30 minute radius of Carmichael. Please email with any questions!

How could I resist bringing two things I love together! Dress yourself, family, kids, and even pets in unique hand dyed clothing items! Order one of my already dyed items, or inquire about a custom (matching?!) order!
The Process
I use a process called "Ice-dye". This uses ice and dye powder instead of liquid dye. I first, tie the item, set it up in a container, or over a container on some sort of rack, then place the dye and ice on top. The ice melts with the dye powder over and into the item. This creates some fun (and gorgeous) dye splits. For example, various purple colors are made from shades of blues and reds. When dyeing an item with purple dye powder and ice, you will see varying amounts of the colors used to create the final "purple", spread throughout the item in a pattern created by the ice melt. This will depend on amount of dye used as well as placement, ice size/shape, temperature, etc. Some amount of this process is controllable, and some is left up to the universe to decide! I use all sorts of ties and am exploring different folds and techniques. The possibilities are endless! Process pictures to come!
